I love short books. Of course there are many longer books I love as well, but I’m a slow reader, and especially in the post-Twilight and Harry Potter age, I think most of the books I read are too long. So Bethany Lopez’s Make It Last, a novella/short novel, was right up my alley. And I ended up loving it even more than I expected to!While Make It Last did have some drama, it left me feeling giddy and happy the entire time I was reading it, especially when I reached the ending. I loved the characters and small-town setting, and the whole “world” the author created seemed very real and down-to-earth. What impressed me most was how well Lopez developed all the secondary characters, and how much she made me care about them all, despite the relatively short length. I am so glad that some of these characters are getting their own stories, and I’ll be reading them very soon!
